Read Arizona Daily Star's write up on Tyler Farr's Country Thunder appearance this past weekend on AZStarNet.com.
“He may be new, but Farr has some serious juice. He’s been friends with Ford for years and has been on the road with Aldean for a big stretch of his last tour; he’s back on the road with Aldean in May through the fall. Those were some big gun guest appearances, but frankly, Farr didn’t need them. He showed the Country Thunder audience that was starting to fill in the lawn for Aldean’s 9 p.m. show that he’s a pretty fine entertainer. He has a platinum-selling debut single, “Redneck Crazy,” that kicked off his big-league career last year and a new single, “Whiskey In My Water,” that’s sprinting up the charts. And he has live show that reminds you why you love country music.”

Columbia Nashville breakthrough artist Tyler Farr, whose debut album, Redneck Crazy, marked the biggest debut by a new male country artist since 2011, celebrated two milestones recently with a Platinum-certification for his hit #1 single “Redneck Crazy” and the announcement of his nomination for the CRS 2014 New Faces of Country Music Show®, which will be held Feb. 21 during CRS.
Following up the title track’s chart-topping success, which The New York Times called “one of the signature country songs of the summer,” Tyler’s debut album had an impressive debut at #2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #5 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, making it the year’s highest entry by a debut male country artist on the all-genre Billboard 200 album sales chart and tying in ranking for the highest ranking chart position on the Billboard Country chart by a new male artist this year. His music video for “Redneck Crazy,” which features Willie Robertson, Lee Brice and Colt Ford, also reached nearly 8 million VEVO views. Currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line and scheduled to begin touring with Jason Aldean in the new year, Tyler’s current single , “Whiskey in my Water” was the most-added song at country radio on its impact date and is currently making its way up the charts. The artist, who was inspired to make country music as a teenager following a summer on the road with the legendry George Jones, “makes country music for country music fans,” and was recently featured in USA Today’s “On the Verge” feature. Voting for the CRS New Faces of Country Music Show is currently open at countryradioseminar.com and remains open through Nov. 27.
